The Steve Barton Musical Theatre Project is casting "Some Enchanted Evening", a musical revue in two acts. Renée Kloes and Kim Williams, prod.; Richard Rodgers, music; Oscar Hammerstein II, lyrics; Jeffrey B. Moss, concept; Heidi Kloes, dir.; Renée Kloes, music dir. Rehearsals begin June 4, 2012; runs June 22 & 23, 2012 at the Nederland Performing Arts Center.
Seeking: Singer-Actors- male and female. For specific character descriptions, see below. We are also looking for a singing male and female ensemble of fantastic, energetic performers with some solo opportunities.
Auditions will be held May 21at 3:45 pm in the Nederland High School choir room.
REQUIRED DANCE AUDITION will begin @ 3:45 in the NHS Choir Room. Please bring flat shoes & clothes you can move around in.
SINGING AUDITIONS will begin at 5:00 pm. Be prepared to sing a one-minute audition piece singing whatever song you do best. Bring sheet music for the accompanist. You may sign up for audition times in the NHS Choir room or call 409-727-2741, ext. 2050 for an audition time.
Call back auditions will be held May 22 beginning at 3:45 pm in the NHS choir room.

Character Descriptions
Billy- Strong leading man type, womanizer, main love interest
of “Maria.” Though he is dark in character, he has a warmth
deep underneath.
Maria- A conflicted leading lady type. Torn between her love for “Billy” and starting a healthier relationship, she struggles with an unexpected discovery.
Nellie- A new-comer to the company, pursued by “Billy” but realizes quickly that she has a deeper connection to “Joseph.” Ingénue type.
Joseph- Young leading man type, a new comer, slightly less practiced with women than “Billy,” Though immediately attracted to “Maria” he discovers that “Nellie” is really the girl of his dreams.
Anna- A seasoned veteran of the theater, counselor and commentator.
Will- A young character actor, a dynamic comic duo and best friends with “Luther,” in love with love.
Luther- A young character actor, a dynamic comic duo and best friends with “Will,” in love with lust.
Julie- A young character actress, a constant flirt, best friends with “Gertie.”
Gertie- A young character actress, thinks guys are stupid, best friends with “Julie”
